Are you passionate about fostering digital communities and shaping brand presence? Chillhop Music is seeking a creative Social Media Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in maximizing Chillhop Music's digital presence and nurturing our community.

Your mission as Social Media Manager in a nutshell

As our Social Media Manager, you'll serve as the vital link between Chillhop Music and our social media and community platforms. Your mission is twofold: internally, you'll advocate for our community's wants and needs by acting as the first point of contact through our social media profiles and online communities, ensuring the Chillhop Team stays aligned. Externally, you'll be the embodiment of our brand values, overseeing our online presence across pivotal platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Threads, X, Discord, Reddit, and beyond, crafting and curating content that authentically reflects our brand identity.

What a typical day in the position looks like

At 10:00 you start your day by checking in on ongoing conversations about our brand across various platforms, including DMs and Discord. You promptly respond to inquiries and interact with comments and posts on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, X, TikTok, and more. Keeping an eye on our Discord server ensures you're plugged into discussions where your input adds value. You write down the comments and feedback you feel are relevant to relay to the rest of the team, so you remember to share them in the next creative department team meeting.

While you’re already online, at 11:00 you take some time to scroll through the different social platforms to engage where relevant, but also to get a sense of what trends are emerging online. You write them down, later this week you are meeting with the Marketing Manager and Design Coordinator to generate social content ideas and to discuss our content schedule, and you want to show up with some relevant, on-trend ideas that can increase our reach and brand awareness.

At 12:00 you take a break to have lunch and a walk.

At 13:00 you focus on crafting tailored social media posts for the week ahead. You write platform-specific copy, adapt visual content to suit various formats, and create a piece of content yourself for a TikTok trend you wanted to play into. You share the content you’ve created with your colleagues for feedback, before you work on scheduling in the posts for the week.

While you wait on their feedback before you can schedule in those posts, at 16:00 you attend a brainstorm meeting about a new release we have coming up. As part of our creative department, your creative mind and expertise on social media and its trends is highly valued, so this is your time to shine and contribute valuable perspectives to the discussion.

As the day winds down, you double-check that scheduled posts have gone live and do some manual posting of Instagram stories and other posts if necessary. You already spend some time engaging with the first comments that come in, and do one last sweep of DMs and mentions before you end your work day.

In this position you will

  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to develop strategies for our social media and community platforms.

  • Generate content ideas in collaboration with our creative team, enhancing engagement within and beyond our releases.

  • Manage our social media content calendar and handle day-to-day posting.

  • Craft compelling copy and maintain consistent brand voice tailored to each platform.

  • Report regularly on social media performance and community feedback, and stay up-to-date of digital trends to inform future strategies.

  • Promote community engagement by promptly responding to inquiries, comments, and posts, and champion our community internally so the Chillhop team has a good understand of their wants and needs.

  • Act as the link between our moderators across various community platforms and the Chillhop team.

  • Conceptualize and execute community events and activations.

About you

  • You are available for 24 to 32 hours per week within a time zone no more than 3 hours ahead or behind CEST (Netherlands).

  • You feel a connection to the Chillhop brand and mission.

  • You have professional experience with the majority of our key platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Threads, X, Discord, and Reddit, and have a knack for tailoring content to suit each audience.

  • You have a good understanding of TikTok and Reels’ in-app video editing features. Experience with other video editing software is a plus.

  • You have genuine enthusiasm for social media and a keen awareness of evolving trends across platforms.

  • You’re proficient in data analysis to derive insights and inform decision-making.

  • You have excellent command of the English language.
